Open-Source AI Agent
Hermes Agent VPS Hosting

Features
Every Hermes Agent VPS Includes
A deny-all UFW firewall on every VPS: incoming traffic blocked by default, SSH only, set up by the installer before Hermes starts.fail2ban blocks brute-force logins with 24-hour bans.
- Full root or admin access. Install anything, configure anything. It's your server.
- Self-healing storage: every block lives on three separate drives; failing drives rebuild automatically.
- DDoS protection included on every plan.
- Unmetered bandwidth under fair-use terms. No traffic caps, no overage charges.
- One-click install: Select Hermes Agent in the Applications tab at checkout. The script runs on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS while your VPS provisions: it installs system dependencies, enables the UFW firewall, configures fail2ban, then runs the official Nous Research installer with the agent as a locked, non-sudo user. The script is public — read it on GitHub before you order.
From checkout to a running agent in three steps
No SSH session, no Docker, no config files. You pick Hermes Agent at checkout and the server hardens itself before the agent ever starts.
Pick a plan and location
Any plan works. Choose Paris or Quebec City — your agent runs around the clock either way.
Choose Hermes Agent at checkout
Under System Image, open the Applications tab and select Hermes Agent. Apps add €0.00 to the price of the plan.
Connect to a hardened install
The script runs on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS while your VPS provisions: a deny-all UFW firewall (SSH only), fail2ban with 24-hour bans — then the official Nous Research installer, with the agent set up as a locked, non-sudo user.

The actual checkout: System Image → Applications → Hermes Agent, €0.00 on top of any plan.

Hosted agent platforms vs your own VPS
If you want zero ops, a hosted agent platform is a fair choice — someone else runs the box. But an agent that reads your messages and holds your API keys is exactly the software many people prefer on hardware only they control. That is the trade this table describes.
| Typical hosted agent platform | Your own VPS on PetroSky | |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing model | Monthly fee, often plus usage | Flat VPS price, from €6.99/mo |
| Where your API keys live | The provider's platform | Your VM — they never leave your server |
| Root access | No | Full root — run anything alongside the agent |
| Updates | On the provider's schedule | On yours — update when you choose |
| Wipe and start over | Support request | Rebuild the VM yourself, anytime |
| Setup effort | None | One click at checkout — installed while the VPS provisions |
Hermes Agent is an open-source project (MIT license) by Nous Research; PetroSky provides the server and the open-source install script, not the software itself.
Starting at €6.99/mo

Read the installer before you run it
The Hermes Agent install script is open source and published in full on GitHub. It wraps the official Nous Research installer: root only provisions — the agent runs as a locked, non-sudo user, with its API keys and logs locked to file mode 600 — and a deny-all UFW firewall plus fail2ban come up before the agent starts. Not a promise — a script you can read line by line at github.com/PetroSky-Cloud/One-click-app.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Hermes Agent?
Hermes Agent is an open-source (MIT) AI agent from Nous Research. One gateway process connects it to Telegram, Discord, Slack, WhatsApp, Signal, email, and a terminal CLI. It ships 40+ built-in tools plus MCP support, a cron scheduler for unattended jobs, and long-term memory and skills that persist across sessions.
What exactly does the one-click installer do?
It wraps the official Nous Research installer with server hardening. Root only provisions — the agent runs as a locked, non-sudo user. A deny-all UFW firewall (SSH only) and fail2ban with 24-hour bans come up before the agent starts, API keys and logs are locked to file mode 600, daily encrypted backups run on a 14-day rotation, and updates run weekly. The script is public: github.com/PetroSky-Cloud/One-click-app.
Do I need my own LLM API key?
Yes. Hermes needs a model provider — OpenRouter, OpenAI, Anthropic, or Nous Research's own portal. The installer stores your key in a file only the agent's user can read. Model usage is billed by your provider; the VPS price stays flat.
Can I migrate from OpenClaw?
Yes. Hermes ships an official migration command, hermes claw migrate, that imports your OpenClaw settings, memories, skills, API keys, and workspace instructions. If you run our OpenClaw image today, you can deploy a Hermes VPS and switch at your own pace.
How much server does Hermes Agent need?
Hermes itself is lightweight — Nous Research describes it as running on a $5 VPS. Our Basic plan (2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM) is comfortable for personal use. Browser automation is the main memory consumer, so choose 8 GB or more if the agent will browse heavily. The installer also adds a 2 GB swap file as headroom.
